day six, unit 3

Janette Oke. Loves Unfolding Dream. Paragraph 2, page 1
Her eyes quickly traveled over the slight body of young Belinda, expecting to see blood some place. Belinda’s dress, clean and neatly pressed when she had gone out just a short time before, was rumpled and dirty. One of her long, carefully plaited braids had come loose from it’d ribbon and hung in disarray about her slim shoulders. Her face was smudged and tear streaked. But to her mothers practiced eye, she seemed whole and unharmed. Marty, unconscious of the small sigh of relief that escaped her, lifted her gaze to meet blue, troubled and tear-filled eyes.
